Pandora One

Just subscribed. Now that I have income, I feel obligated to support things I like. And Pandora is definitely long overdue for some financial love from me, I think. >_>

The tipping point was this morning, when the traffic to work was totally and absolutely atrocious for who knows why. (no accidents that I could see.) And while I was stuck in stop and go on the bridge, fate adds insult to injury by making sure all of my radio stations were playing commercials instead of music.

Don’t laugh. It’s the little things in life.

Then it occurred to me. I have an iPhone now, and there’s a Pandora app on it. Took me less than thirty seconds to whip it out, plug it into my tape deck adapter thinger, and immediately started piping music from my Glee station through the car speakers.

Don’t laugh. It’s the little things in life.

So once I got to work, I opened Pandora and subscribed pretty much immediately. I’m nearing the max allotment of free listening hours this month as it is, and we’ve still got nine days left.

A nice bonus is that I can add a Michael Jackson station so a certain someone else who frequently rides in my car will stop complaining about my radio station choices. >_>

I am super excited. >__>

No favorites just yet, but I have to admit I harbor a soft spot for “On The Rocks”, just because they do this excellent cover, with equally awesome choreography. XD

“Never Been Kissed” episode

The background vocals of “Teenage Dream” were provided by collegiate a cappella group The Beelzebubs from Tufts University.

I KNEW IT!!

Axis of Awesome - Four Chord Song

WHOA. :D

From my dad.

There’s a wiki article that talks about the making of the original video, which I read with great interest. Much of the song was written by MJ… shouldn’t surprise anyone. Besides his unparalleled talent for showmanship, the other thing that strikes me about MJ is his rather childlike perspective on changing the world, which the lyrics in this song are… no different. ::lol::

I’m appalled that people could criticize the song for being too simplistic, though. Sure, it’s not artistically challenging, but hell, that’s not what it’s FOR. Come off your high horse and just revel in the beauty of the human spirit.

The chorus is especially powerful. All those beautiful voices singing in harmony. ::happy sigh::

::lololol:: I was doing some research on Mulan, don’t ask why. But… I found out that Jackie Chan voiced Shang for the Mandarin version of the Disney film.

Which meant… he sang Shang’s pieces too. So I had to YouTube it. XD

(p.s. dunno why the beginning is English… I think they used an English version video and just put the recording of the Mandarin lyrics to it.)

(p.p.s. apparently Mulan is credited to giving Christina Aguilera her start, because she sang the pop version of Reflection. :x )

Was listening to Pandora, where I have a Glee channel (shhhhh!) … and this piece randomly popped on. I was working, so didn’t know who was singing it, but I naturally started bopping to the beat and thought, gosh, that really sounds like Lea Michele. But Glee never did a Christmas episode…..

Oh hey. >_>;
