Taking a page out of the AIC playbook and doing all my design with Photoshop first, where I can blue sky all I want and then when I’m done, smack myself for creating something that will be incredibly painful to code.

I’ve usually been good about doing mockups in Photoshop first, but often ended up restricting what I put down on the canvas because I would subconsciously be considering the mechanical details. I’m feeling more confident about my markup and CSS skills these days, as a result of coding more mockups that aren’t mine … not to mention more ambitious cause the tools at a web designer’s disposal are getting more awesome. Damn you, jQuery.
