rants
So. I’ve run into the first application I have ever wanted to try that is Mac only. :(
(well, not counting Enigmo, but there WAS a Windows port of it, so I didn’t suffer any crisis then.)
It’s a game engine called Unity, which looks like welcome relief after hearing horror stories about engines like Torque. I guess if it’s really that good, and I’ll find out during the workshop today, I’ll just have to settle for using it on lab computers. >_>;
Does anyone know of any game engines that I should look into for PCs, besides Torque, that I should look into for future work? :P Unity just looks so awesome… ;_;
(and no, I can’t get a Mac after buying a PC laptop so recently, so don’t even go there. >_> … hey wait. maybe now would be a hot time to get a mac mini for a server. except I wanted to go to commercial hosting. oh well.)
Mac mini also lacks discrete graphics, which you’ll probably want if you do any serious gaming.
