life, reviews, work - career
… at VRMC. I’ll totally append this entry later with a fat review and talk about all the nitty gritty details that I never did before, cause I’m not working for them anymore and it wouldn’t matter. XP
[edit] Okay, it’s later! XD
Actually, I’m not really going to say much. Really, the job had its ups and downs. Mainly ups, because the people I was working with were really pretty cool, the work load was reasonable, stress levels were pretty low and the work itself was relatively interesting and new so that I was always learning something.
The downs were when there was that whole ISO thing, and everyone just seemed to be in a bad mood because they were all doing paperwork instead of the art or coding that they’d rather be doing. And the commute kind of sucked, because I always had to take the bus and my arrival time at work varied depending on which one I caught… and it really sucked when it rained. :P And… I dunno. Everyone seemed to dislike how the management worked to some extent, but I wasn’t really affected by that much, since I got my tasks from someone who basically always had something new for me to do whereas others were either overloaded or idle.
The best part was that, of course, so many of the people in the office were playing WoW by the time I left. XD You laugh, but I really do think the commonality went a long way in livening up conversation and it definitely gave us something to talk about other than work work work. (which could be really difficult to talk about, since not all of us were even working on the same thing most times.) I know what server they’re on, so I’ll probably roll a level 1 blood elf warlock there to bug them on occasion. And to, of course, extend an invitation in case any of them ever feel like playing alliance… >__>;
Overall, I don’t think I could’ve asked for a more decent first work experience. :)
Man. You should’ve somehow convinced them to let you tag along to GDC as one last hurrah. That would have been excellent.

Umm. They weren’t going to GDC as a company… the two people who went were paying for it out of their own pockets and taking time off, soooo… yeah. :P
